W. D Amaradeva   W. D. Amaradeva was one of the greatest musicians, singers, and composers in the history of Sri Lanka. He was born on December 5, 1927, in Moratuwa, and his original name was Wannakuwatte Waduge Don Albert Perera. From a young age, he showed a strong interest and talent in music, which later developed into an extraordinary career. To improve his musical knowledge, Amaradeva studied at the Bhatkhande Music Institute in India. There, he gained a deep understanding of Hindustani classical music, which he later blended with Sri Lankan music to create a unique style of his own. His singing style was very special, known for its simplicity, clarity, and deep emotional expression.
